MIKE WALSH

Mike Walsh earned his Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Alberta in 1984 and became a Chartered Accountant in 1987, maintaining this designation until his resignation in February 2016. His extensive career in public practice from 1984 to 2012 saw him articling with KPMG in Ft McMurray and working internationally in New Zealand and Bermuda. In 2000, Mike became a partner at Roy, Solbak, and Walsh, eventually merging with MNP LLP in 2004 During the initial 15 years of his career, Mike's work in public practice covered various areas, including Accounting, Audit & Taxation, Corporate Structure and Governance, and Strategic Planning. His expertise in finance was evident in his involvement with corporate structures and governance. As his career progressed, Mike shifted towards the Corporate Finance side, specializing in mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and real estate projects. Postretirement from partnership in May 2012, Mike transitioned into the role of CEO at Parwest Management Ltd. since 2011. Parwest Management offers project management services for residential and industrial land development projects, expanding upon Mike's prior real estate practice to include comprehensive project management.In addition to his professional achievements, Mike has made significant contributions on various boards. He served as Chairman of the Board at the Business Development Center and held positions as a Board Director and Treasurer at the MacDonald Island Park Corporation. Currently, he acts as a Board Trustee for the Keyano College Land Trust. With a career spanning decades and a diverse range of experiences, Mike brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the table, making him a trusted advisor for those navigating complex business landscapes.
